Speech Therapy Results
Speech therapy helps children with autism to comprehend the verbal and nonverbal communication that other people use. It helps them to recognise cues like body language and facial expressions. Speech therapy can also help a child with autism to understand how to initiate communication without prompting from others.
Address Jaw Movement
Koala Academy uses oral motor therapy to help children overcome challenges with movement of the jaw, tongue, lips, teeth and cheeks. It addresses the placement of the above structures within the mouth. Oral motor exercises improve mobility, awareness of placement, coordination, strength of the oral muscles and structures.
Become More Expressive
Koala Academy's Speech and Language Pathologist's use expressive and receptive language skills to teach our children how to communicate with others effectively. ... In typical development, children are able to understand language before they are able to produce it. Children who are unable to comprehend language may have receptive language difficulties or a receptive language disorder.
Imporve Sounds & Syllables
Koala Academy works with children to address articulation issues with making sounds in syllables, or saying words incorrectly. Children often feel misunderstood and different because of this and our speech and language pathologists use their skills and techniques to empower the child to feel more confident in their communication with others.
